2008 – 2011 Freelance commercial and music video casting using Casting Networks as our online posting forum. Friend and work partner, David Kang, started his own casting division after I had moved into feature film principal casting. In between projects, I would coordinate large ad campaigns, most notably Old Navy’s spring and summer campaigns of 2011. Duties include posting breakdowns, screening submissions, scheduling auditions & callbacks, delegating materials, hiring & training production assistants, running studio cameras in conjunction with Fastcast, uploading sessions, and communicating with agencies.

1996 – 2006 at Background Players, owned by David Anthony, on over 40 feature projects with some assisting for Rich King Casting on large scale sets. By 2004, I was promoted to office manager, operating and training the team to coordinate and wrangle large-scale sets, open calls and auditions, scouting a range of characters to fulfill each project’s vision and needs, managing a fast-paced office, hiring and training employees & interns, multi-tasking between rush calls, wardrobe fittings, negotiating contracts, updating hotlines daily, dispensing details, and following all Screen Actors Guild protocols.

I worked for Matthew Barry / Nancy Green-Keyes (BGK Casting). I managed their office by handling heavy phones, communicating with agents, overseeing scheduling, managing multiple lists (cast, avails, schedules, passes, sessions, feedback), getting avails, running auditions, operating camera, editing footage on iMovie and Final Cut Pro, uploading sessions on Ecocast Enhanced OR Castit, acquiring and training interns, assisting obtaining quotes, conducting research, maintaining general office supplies, while also being familiar with all casting forums & databases (Breakdown, Castit, LA Casting, Now, Cazt).

Create cast lists, coordinate with producers & directors, post the Breakdowns, post the script, post the sides, outreach to agents and managers, meet talent, oversee auditions, review reels, approve materials, acquire quotes, initiate deal memos.

2017 – “Between Worlds”, directed by Maria Pulera, starring Nicolas Cage and Franka Potente. Released 2018

2016 – “Bodied”, directed by Joseph Kahn, an indie about the global underground scene of battle rapping, starring Calum Worthy and Jackie Long. To be released 2017!

2012 – Scratch voices for Laika Studios’ “Kubo and the 2 Strings”, set to release 2016.

2011 – “Detention” for Joseph Kahn, which had Dane Cook and Josh Hutcherson starring.

2010 – “Fear Not” horror indie for David Kang Productions.

2009 – Worked with Rob Williams and Rod Johnson at Guest House Films to cast “Make the Yuletide Gay”.

2008 – Sasha Adkinson, fellow casting director bestie, invited to assist on her last season (6) of Reno 911.

2000 – “Deadfall” for Vince DiMeglio.

2018 – Current. After a 20-year long friendship with David Kang, I’ve returned to Los Angeles for the fabulous opportunity to restore DK Casting with a new thriving team of casting directors through a highly sought position in the Trainee Program for recent college graduates and highly invested actors. I oversee all the projects (commercials, music videos, OCP and extras casting, and indie movies), the training program, and coordinate between all the departments (casting, admin, marketing, maintenance, accounting, internship). While creating & supporting all the teams, I ensure all the participants gain the practical experience required to operate and cast each project to our clients’ highest gratifications and expectations – Wrangling Talent, using LA Casting, Casting Networks, Fast Capture, Breakdown Services, Actors Access, and Eco Cast. And have fun doing so. Here, it’s about collaboration, supporting the actors, and playing win-win.
